Department Overview
The CCSD Crisis Response Team is dedicated to the safety, mental health, and well-being of school communities. Our
mission is to safeguard student well-being through proactive prevention, timely intervention, and compassionate support
during difficult situations. Through our expertise in threat and crisis management, we strive to empower and equip
students, families, and school teams to create a safe and resilient educational environment where students and staff can
thrive.
Our trained, licensed specialists collaborate with school staff and families to achieve this mission through:
Prevention & Assessment
- Threat assessment services to identify and address potential safety concerns
- Consultative support for school-based teams conducting student suicide risk assessments
Professional Learning & Support
- Evidence-based suicide prevention training for all district personnel
- Professional learning opportunities for district personnel in trauma-informed practices, mental health awareness, and
targeted violence prevention - Resources for managing student reentry after extended absences or hospitalizations
- Short-term counseling services for students experiencing acute distress
Crisis Management
- Immediate response during critical incidents affecting school communities
- Guidance for restoring normal school operations following traumatic events
- Supportive strategies for schools managing the impact of student or staff deaths
Our team is committed to fostering resilience and ensuring all students have access to necessary mental health resources
during challenging times.
